THIRTY ONE

Somewhat of a milestone since many naysayers thought I wouldn't last this long.

Orphans

Sure, the floors are being finished yesterday and today and there could have been a picture of that work, but in moving everything out of the living room I took keys off the key rack and these have no home.

Here today, gone tomorrow??

Hopefully tomorrow this screw will be removed, the floor patched and then sanded in preparation for finishing on Saturday. I say hopefully, because you know how contractors are.

Day 27

Today's picture could have been more progress in our home project, or a pic of the small job I did at Lauren's, but while there I had to take a pic of my favorite granddaughter. Hard to get a picture of her while she is eating because her hand is always going to her mouth.

More progress

Doors painted and new knob on linen closet. Tomorrow I need to buy new knobs for other doors and install them. Floors to be finished Friday and Saturday.

This project is giving me days of postings. :-)

More progress

Today the trim was painted. If all goes according to plan the doors will be painted tomorrow. Floors aren't scheduled to be done until Friday/Saturday so there is time for me to get ahead of the game.

Almost empty

Where is our living room set?

At least no one can see in the windows.

Moral support

I hate plumbing, but Dave asked me to come over and help him install a new faucet. He did most of the work and unlike when I do plumbing, there were no leaks when we were done. I think part of that can be attributed to the great strides that have been made in making it easier for the homeowner to tackle projects without problems. Still it was nice to see a job done without one trip to Home Depot.

New house??

Doors were installed today with trim. No knobs on yet, nor some pieces of floor molding. That should all be completed tomorrow.

It is not a crowded theater.

Neighbor is cutting down two trees in his backyard. Instead of bundling the branches and disposing of them in the normal way, he purchased a fire ring and is burning everything. I think it is going to take him all winter.

This pic was taken through a window from which I was standing about five feet.

Prepping

Taped off base molding for priming. After floors are finished and shoemolding installed I will paint white.

God of Carnage

Dinner before the play, at La Rivage concluded with my Creme Caramel (flan) and Pat's interesting take on bread pudding.

No real marquee because of construction.

Pedals

Piano is now in the den, after the movers were here for eight minutes.

Storage room?

Dining room furniture and all tchochkes and wall items are now in the spare room.

Eleven and two

Eleven minutes from entering premises until driving out,

which gives me two more years.

An Endangered Species

On the way back from the library today I spotted one of an endangered species and needed to take a picture.

Happy Anniversary

We went out for our "Anniversary". Nothing fancy; just Peter's Fishery.

Again, taken with the cell phone. I have to stop that. Also, if you need an explanation of the "anniversary", see my other blog.

J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS

First play from scrimmage in the game, when all fans have hope that the new Jets showed up for the game and not the old Jets.
This would have been a clearer picture if I could have paused the game first, but I was relegated to the spare room to watch the game.

Day 8

Babysitting this morning.

Stopped at Home Depot and bought a sample tile.

First time out

Upper thirties, very little wind, so I ventured out for a sixteen mile ride. Dressed the way I am I could have done it in temperatures a little lower.

Frigid Bay Shore

On our 2.25 mile afternoon walk I noticed the ice along the shore. When we got home I grabbed my camera, hopped in the truck and went to take some shots. I do realize some may not understand the description of the pics.

Looking east from the boardwalk at Waterfront Park

Looking west toward the sewer company.

Taken from the Aberdeen side of Whale Creek looking toward the bay.

Again at the Aberdeen beach looking east toward Keyport.

Looking east again, but more toward the water.

Extraordinary experience

These were taken with my cell phone. I knew it was going to be that or I would be taking a picture of me on the couch after we got home after grabbing a bite after the movie.

An afternoon at the movies.

Got our 3D glasses and are ready to travel to Pandora.

Day 4

Fiber is good.

Finally it is done. Three coats and a touch up fourth

Day 2

Too cold to ride outdoors. Anything below freezing and I am indoors.

Two coats and still not covering. See yesterday's pics for first coat and hopefully see tomorrow's for the finished product.

Busy Day

A visit to see Mom on the first day of the year.

First coat done. Not easy, white over dark walnut stain.
